A Knight In Shining Armour

As she wept she felt the sorrow of the world on her shoulders, a dead weight entwined in her scapula, her vertebra, every muscle on her back.  She was fed up with the burden, the responsibility, she wanted to break away but was unable to do so.  The bond was too great for her to sever.  Did she speak for herself alone, or was she the voice of many?  Was she speaking for those suppressed before her?  Connected to those before her by blood, she could feel them rushing through her veins, into her mind, her thoughts, her very being.  She was who they had made her, they were her history, this is her story.

The females in her life had made her the person she is today and she was thankful.  She loved who she was, who she had become.  When she remembered her great nanny she sensed her own purpose and her connection to the depth of the soul, the universe and all the stars in it.  She knew she wasn’t the same person she was yesterday and she knew she would be someone different tomorrow.   She no longer wanted to be rescued but to be the rescuer, the knight in shining armour, also known as, the girl with a gorgeous face.  She had waited a long time to be rescued and realised soon than she could only rescue her Self.

She refused to accept the darkness which loomed over her, the sorrow of the world would have to wait, the weight would become less intense and she hoped, would turn to dust and her shoulders would be left feeling free, free of the burden which she carried.  If she let go, the pain in her shoulder would lessen and she would be free, free of the mental anguish and free of the physical pain which had manifested in her scapula.  The aching which hindered her body belonged to the torment which hindered her mind, she knew that.  She knew how to let go, she had been trained to let go.

She had desires but she was not her desires, she was more than this and she felt it, passionately.  She had learnt to love herself and that was important.  She knew that loving herself would bring love to her.
