Some Of Them Want To Use You
Her Grandfather was a true cockney, born in the sounds of Bow Bells and this is the house where he died, where she found him. He was a great union man who was for the working classes and she was thankful for that as it had become a part of who she was. She was able to understand poverty, unlike some she new. She embraced her history and where she had grown as a child. Her first ever memory was in the garden of this house. A few houses along, prefabricated homes prevailed as her grandmother spoke many times of the doodle bug that hit that very spot, killing her neighbour. Her grandmother always spoke of the sense of community in the war, something that has now been lost in 21st century society. The war gave something to the people, maybe more value on human life, the importance of being able to survive. It appeared to her that life was taken for granted all too often now. If you haven’t got it, you want it, if you’ve got, you want more. Materialism pissed her off and she was glad she had no money.
